The Ultimate Fallout 76 Armor Mod Guide: Top-Tier Effects
Comprehensive tier list for Fallout 76’s armor mods, covering both regular armor and power armor.

S-Tier Armor Mods: The Ultimate Game-Changers

EG for Power Armor (EGIS)
This is the top-tier armor mod, offering maximum resistances for both you and your teammates. The effect stacks across the entire team within a 50-foot radius, multiplying by 20 if everyone is wearing the EG mod. If you're running a full team, you’ll become an absolute tank, making this an S-tier mod for Power Armor builds.

Chuchu (10% chance to do 500 damage on sprinting)
This effect is fantastic, offering true damage that bypasses enemy resistance. Running around enemies triggers this effect multiple times, often eliminating high-level threats like Super Mutants in just a few hits. This quick damage output makes it perfect for melee-focused builds.

Rejuvenators (Health and AP regeneration for you and your teammates)
A standout mod that restores health and action points (AP) within a 50-foot radius. Even without using stimpaks, you'll keep regenerating health and AP during combat, making it one of the most powerful mods for both solo and team play. It's absolute S-tier for sustained combat.

A-Tier Armor Mods: High Efficiency & Utility

Limit Breaking (Reduces critical hit action point cost)
Limit Breaking is a solid mod, especially if you want to maximize critical hits without consuming too many resources. When combined with Critical Savvy, it can drastically lower the AP cost of critical hits, making it an A+ tier mod for builds that rely on frequent crits.

Rangers (5% bonus damage for ranged weapons)
If you favor ranged weapons, this mod offers a solid 25% bonus damage for all ranged weapons, especially powerful when paired with a heavy gunner build. It’s a reliable A-tier mod, delivering consistent damage output.

Reflective Return (10% damage reflection)
This mod reflects 50% of the damage back at enemies, including melee attacks, which is crucial for melee tank builds. While it’s not as powerful as Ricochet or Bullet Shield, it’s still incredibly useful in close-range combat. Solid A-tier for melee players.

B-Tier Armor Mods: Effective but Niche Use Cases

Bruisers (5% bonus damage for melee weapons)
While this mod offers bonus damage for melee weapons, it’s not as impactful as the base strength bonus. It’s a minor improvement, especially if you’re a melee-focused player, but it’s more of a niche mod. Hence, it lands in the B-tier.

Poisonous Cloud (Harms nearby enemies with poison)
The small radius and low damage output make this mod less than ideal for most builds. However, it does work on regular armor, which is an advantage over some other mods that only function with Power Armor. Its B-tier rating reflects its situational usefulness.

Tankies (200 damage resistance when standing still)
While this mod offers great damage resistance for 10 seconds after taking damage, the long cooldown means you won’t be able to rely on it frequently. It works great for stealth builds but is not very effective for most combat scenarios. Thus, it’s a B-tier mod.

C-Tier Armor Mods: Situational & Less Impactful

Stall WS (Power Armor durability reduction)
This mod reduces the rate at which your Power Armor breaks, but in practice, it’s not a game-changer. Repair kits are easily accessible, and Power Armor durability is rarely a significant issue. Therefore, it finds itself in the C-tier.

Radioactive Power (AP regen at the cost of radiation)
A decent mod for healing radiation, but only works when you're at full health. It's useful in some niche cases, like when you're actively healing radiation damage. One-piece use may be beneficial, but a full set is not recommended, so it sits at B-tier.

F-Tier Armor Mods: Ineffective and Unusable

Propelling Movement (Movement speed increase)
Unfortunately, movement speed bonuses don’t stack in Fallout 76, meaning this mod offers minimal benefit. It doesn’t contribute much to your overall effectiveness, making it an F-tier mod.

Runners (Action Point cost reduction for sprinting)
While this mod does reduce your Action Point cost while sprinting, its effects are barely noticeable. You can achieve the same result with different mods or cards, which makes it largely ineffective, landing it in the F-tier.

Incorporating the best armor mods into your build will help you survive tougher enemies and support your team in a variety of situations. Experiment with different combinations of Power Armor and regular armor mods to find the perfect setup that suits your gameplay style.
